Wipro Ltd has agreed to buy UK-based Capco, a technology consulting firm for banking and financial services industry, for $1.45 billion, as India’s third largest IT service provider looks to expand its customer base in Europe and Asia.
London-headquartered Capco has, over the past 20 years, worked closely with business leaders, including boards and C-Suites in the banking, capital markets, wealth, asset management and insurance sectors and is widely acknowledged for its deep domain and consulting expertise, risk and regulatory offerings and thought leadership around key industry technology challenges and opportunities. Rogers Communications has rocked the Canadian business landscape with the announcement of a plan to acquire Shaw Communications in a deal worth $26 billion, effectively merging the legacies of communications industry pioneers Ted Rogers and JR Shaw.
The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approvals, will see Toronto-based Rogers pay $40.50 per share in cash, worth a total of $20 billion, excluding 60% of the shares of Shaw Family Living Trust, which will be exchanged for 23.6 million shares of Rogers. Spectrum auction concludes with total bids for Rs77,814.80 crore

The latest round of auction of radio spectrum concluded today with three bidders – Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea - bidding for a total of 855.60 MHz of the 2,308.80 MHz spectrum put to auction.
The 2,308.80 MHz spectrum put to auction included spectrum that is expiring by December 2021. Bids were received for855.60MHz of spectrum. This is about 60 per cent% of the spectrum put to auction, excluding spectrum in 700MHz and 2500MHz bands,.
Reliance Jio emerged the highest bidde securing 488.35 MHz of the spectrum worth Rs57,122.65 crore, the telecom ministry stated.
